Here come the Kiwis…

Hasn’t taken much Auckland winter to convince the Kiwi’s to pack their bags. Last year New Zealand’s Tim Wood made GI a mission, this year he’s back with NZ Boardstore owner Brian Smith and accompanied by 2 of NZ’s hottest young chargers, Luke and Jack Holliday. Both grew up wave-sailing but have recently been getting more seriously into slalom, and are lucky enough to be part of Team 10, founded by Auckland’s Jim Rodgers to support young sailors in NZ. Without Jim’s support they wouldn’t be able to do events like Green Island. Kudos Jim !

Jack was pretty enthusiastic about their opportunity ; “I had a bloody good time in New Caledonia with the Dingo PJ Yeomans, the Roaster Rowen Law and the French Aussie Julian Ventalon so its gonna be good to catch up with them again and meet the rest of the Aussie crew! Plus its starting to get a bit cold and dark over here in NZ so those tropical pictures of Green Island were too tempting to pass up.”

“When Brett Morris told us about GI on his annual pilgrimage to the NZ formula nationals we had already committed our savings to other trips, but we were able to fund the trip thanks to the support of a group of local businesses and families. Jump on Team 10’s facebook page https://www.facebook.com/team10windsurfing/ to check out who supports us and the latest on the racing scene in NZ.”

“We’re looking forward to getting over there and mixing it up with everyone and hopefully we can convince a few of you to cross the ditch for the NZ nationals early next year.”

Welcome guys. Gonna be a fun week! On and off the water..
